Calling all grill masters and taco enthusiasts! The Bearded Butchers have the perfect recipe to combine your love of smoky flavors and bold Mexican spices. This recipe features a delicious blend of refried beans, salsa, seasoned ground beef, and a medley of fresh vegetables, all piled high on a crispy crust. Fire up your smoker and get ready to create this one-of-a-kind Taco Pizza.

Ingredients:

  • Pizza dough: You can use your favorite store-bought dough (14-16 inches) or prepare your own following a preferred recipe.
  • Sauce: 1 (16 oz) can refried beans mixed with ½ cup salsa of your choice.
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup chopped white onion
  • ½ cup chopped green bell pepper
  • ½ cup chopped red bell pepper
  • ½ cup chopped tomatoes
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
  • Bearded Butcher Blend Taco Seasoning

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Smoker: Get your smoker nice and hot, aiming for a temperature between 550-600 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Prepare the Pizza Dough: If using store-bought dough, let it thaw according to package instructions. If making your own dough, follow your recipe.
  3. Brown the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add olive oil. Once hot, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Sprinkle ground beef with Bearded Butcher Blend Taco Seasoning. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine the refried beans and salsa. Mash the beans slightly with a fork to create a spreadable consistency.
  5. Assemble the Pizza: On a lightly floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to a 14-16 inch circle. Transfer the dough to a pizza peel or a baking sheet dusted with cornmeal. Spread the refried bean and salsa mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edge.
  6. Layer the Toppings: Top the sauce with the browned ground beef. Sprinkle the shredded Mexican cheese blend over the top. Distribute the chopped onions, green peppers, red peppers, and chopped tomatoes.
  7. Smoke the Pizza: Carefully transfer the pizza (on the peel or baking sheet) to your preheated smoker. Close the lid and smoke for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the crust is slightly golden brown.
  8. Serve it Up: Top your hot and smoky taco pizza with dollops of sour cream, guacamole, and drizzle with Bearded Butcher Rebel Red sauce (or your favorite hot sauce) for an extra kick! Enjoy!
