Bearded Butcher recommendation for how to use beard balm:
Use the back of your thumbnail to scoop a small amount of balm and place into the palm of your hand. Rub the balm together between your hands until it has melted (our clean, unrefined shea butter may feel gritty, but this is normal). Any grittiness will resolve itself when rubbing balm into your hands and will not be gritty in your beard. Work the balm into your beard and shape your beard to your preference.

Great balm
My boyfriend has a great beard but was having trouble finding a good balm. Others were too thick and greasy. This one is great and does a great job conditioning his beard and leaves it looking amazing. The smell is great too.
