Candied Brussels Sprouts are a perfect blend of sweetness and spice, offering a gourmet touch to everyday meals. Ingredients:

  • 1  Pound Brussels Sprouts, halved
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Tsp. Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1/2 Tsp. Dijon Mustard
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Tsp. Maple Syrup
  • 1 Tsp. Brown Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Red Pepper Flakes for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cut the Brussels Sprouts in half and remove the end.
  2. Blanch and shock the Brussels Sprouts if needed. Then, dry them thoroughly.
  3. In a sauté pan, heat oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the Brussels Sprouts to the pan and cook, stirring occasionally.
  5. Sprinkle in the brown sugar and allow the Brussels Sprouts to caramelize and brown.
  6. Add the maple syrup and continue cooking.
  7. Season with cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper to taste.
  8. Add the balsamic vinegar and Dijon mustard, then reduce the mixture until it thickens and coats the sprouts.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
  10. Garnish with red pepper flakes for an extra kick.
  11. For extra flavor, you can add chopped cooked bacon to the dish.
