If you're craving a festive and flavorful sandwich to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, this Reuben Sandwich with Tangy Russian Dressing, created by Hannah Sattelmaier, is right for you! This sandwich combines layers of corned beef, melty Swiss cheese, and perfectly tangy homemade Russian dressing. It's the ultimate comfort food, perfect for your St. Paddy's Day celebration.
Ingredients:
- 2 Slices Marble Rye Bread
- 1/4 Cup Sauerkraut (drained well)
- 6 Oz. Cooked Corn Beef, Deli style or thinly sliced
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese, sliced
- 1 Tbsp Butter, softened
- 2 Tbsp. Bearded Butcher Russian Dressing
- Horseradish to taste
Directions:
- Prepare the Sauerkraut: Open the sauerkraut and drain it thoroughly. Squeeze the sauerkraut to remove as much excess liquid as possible. This is crucial to prevent a soggy sandwich.
- Prepare the Bread: Spread softened butter on the bread slices.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread the homemade Bearded Butcher Russian Dressing on one side or each slice of marble rye bread. On one slice, layer Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, horseradish, then the corned beef. Repeat these steps, and top it with the other slice of bread (dressing side down).
- Toast the Sandwich: Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat. Toast for 3-5 minutes on one side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese begins to melt. Flip it carefully and repeat this process until the cheese is fully melted.
- Serve: Remove the sandwich from the griddle and slice it in half. Serve with potato chips, pickles, and enjoy!
