This was my first time making bratwurst/sausages …whatever you wanna call it. I purchased two DIY kits, the Mango Tango and the Jalapeño cheddar kits. Both were very good. The kits made it full proof and simple for the most part. I messed up the casing at times lol. So the Mango Tango had a semi sweet and low spice level-(we eat a lot of spicy stuff) but for someone who’s not spicy tolerant would be fine. They turned out very good but I would like to see a more spicy heat to them. Nothing like a hot chip thing but something that lets you know it’s there but you can’t stop eating it lol. I used pork butts for both kits but I cut the money muscle s out for a seperate cook lol .i highly recommend these DIY kits. Yea yea yea you’ll see some funky ones as these are my rejects haha but first time making brats and they came out good. Keep in mind if you do a 25lb kit it’s going to yield 90-100 brats. So be ready to vac seal lol

Best brats that I ever made.Everyone that tries these love them. When you bite into one you get a burst of three flavors in your mouth (mango, maple, and jalapeño).
Made these from venison and they taste good. Only downside is cooking too hot will result in a burnt sugar mess.

Mango chunks are too big. Should have added less mango. Otherwise flavor was great!
I bought the mango tango, jalapeño cheddar, and maple bourbon diy brat kits. All 3 are incredible! I did 50/50 deer and pork and they turned out great, my kids even say these are the best brats they ever had. I’m trying to shoot another deer before season closes so I can try the other brat kits. They have a customer for life, I’m making these every year!!!

When I bought this kit I had some reservations about having Maple in the flavor profile. I went with it anyway, and was glad I did. The brats came out a little on the sweet side, but not too much. The jalapeños offset the sweet of the maple and mangos, and the sausages are delicious. They’d be equally good as an entree, on a bun, or on a breakfast plate. I served the first batch I cooked up with some riced cauliflower and sweet potatoes, and some coleslaw. It made for a great dinner. Like all the Bearded Butcher kits I’ve used, the kit was complete and easy to use. I highly recommend the Mango Tango kit as well as Bearded Butchers products as a whole.
