This turned in to a family event. My son and I smoked it low and slow and fed the whole family.
We had a party with a group of friends and kids (29 total). The steak was a big hit, people were impressed with how large it was and then how good it was. We used the Original Seasoning for the steak. By the way we also used the heat and cut resistant gloves to handle the steak once we put it on the grill. Our steak was just under 11 lbs.

I always thought it was just a novelty item until I came across the Bearded Butchers. Those guys know their stuff. I've never ordered raw meat off the web so I was a bit worried, to my surprise they cut, froze, and package my steak in a way that it was still frozen like a block after spending 4 days in transit to my house. My mind was blown. I saved the steak for about two weeks until I was able to have my kids over to help eat it and man was I not disappointed. The caveman steak was a fun cook and offered a great conversation piece at our house. I cooked it low and slow on my smoker and then finished it with a sear on direct fire heat. There is enough meat here to feed a small village and it turned out amazing!
Cooked this caveman steak in my Ranch kettle low and slow like a brisket before butcher wrapping it at the end. Came out beyond tender for the family. Ended up having Steak nachos, steak fajitas, grilled cheese-steaks, and steak quesadillas.
Really glad I bought two of them cause the first one went FAST. Don't let the pictures fool you, the ranch kettle is a 37" charcoal grill, it makes everything look 'small'.

The steaks were all warm and thawed out. All the dry ice had melted. I put them in my chest freezer immediately. I cooked one of the cowboy steak for dinner that day. It was great no problem. The Caveman steak and the other cowboy steak were refroze. I think they will be alright. If the weather this weekend is good I will cook the Caveman on my Treager grill. My friend thought I needed to tell you about the shipping. I still enjoy you people in what you provide. I'm retired and love to cook. Thanks.

Awesome sized meat! Bought this for my best friend from college. Known each other for 45 years. He just retired as an airline captain. Great guy. Had it sent to FL so he could fire up the grill and enjoy it w his kids, grandkids, etc. He howled laughing when it was delivered. Perfect sized steak to grill w/dino ribs and tomahawk ribeyes!
