One thing we can't stand is seasonings that claim to be “hot” only for their results to be bland and mild. If hot is what you’re after, then hot is what you should get. When we crafted our own Bearded Butcher’s Blend Seasoning, we knew what we wanted from a hot seasoning, and boy did we get it. Our Hot Blend is all-natural, gluten-free, and has no added preservatives, color, MSG, or other ingredients you don’t want to put in your body. Also, did we mention it’s hot?
You will probably catch yourself sprinkling a little of the Hot spices on almost everything you eat. We do it all the time. From hard boiled eggs to sliced veggies, this seasoning amps up the flavor. And when you are going for smoky, spicy, and intense flavor – you can’t go wrong with the Bearded Butcher's Blend Hot Seasoning.
What Our Hot Seasoning Tastes Like
Right up front, the chilis hit you with flavor. It’s not fire-alarm hot, but it sizzles a little. Just behind that initial punch of heat is a delicate smokiness that only comes from expertly roasted, ripe chilis. Then, just when you start to think this spice is okay, but not that spicy – boom! The second wave of spice floods your mouth. Deep, spicy flavor from cayenne, roasted jalapeno, and a carefully selected top-secret blend of red chilis from around the world flood your senses. It’s a fantastic, warming experience that lingers on the back of your tongue without being overwhelming. This is the way a hot seasoning should taste – smoky, sweet, and very spicy. It’s so good you’ll put it on everything.
Hot Spices Recipe Ideas
When we first started playing around with creating a Hot blend, everything we had to compare against was sort of a one-trick pony. Commercial blends would taste okay on one dish, but would clash with another. We needed something much more versatile, something that was reliable no matter what recipe we picked. That’s why we crafted the Bearded Butcher’s Blend Hot Seasoning. These are some of our favorite ways to use the Hot spices.
Flaming Chicken Wings
Out of all the different ways we have used the Hot seasoning, chicken wings might be among the absolute very best. This seasoning just brings out the biggest flavors from chicken wings and it turns a football-favorite appetizer into a full-scale meal.
After separating the wings, coat with Bearded Butcher’s Hot Blend Seasoning. Place the chicken wings in a plastic bag or a stainless steel bowl and toss, making sure to get the seasoning worked in really well. We like to do these on the Big Green Egg so we get a nice, crispy char on the outside, but the inside stays juicy and delicious. There is something magical about combining the Hot seasoning with a little open fire. It takes the flavors to a whole different level of awesome. Mix up a little ranch dip for the wings, it’ll cool off the heat just enough without losing the intensity of the flavors.
Hot Summer Sausage
This is one of our favorite recipes, particularly when we are clearing space in the freezer before deer season starts. We have an excellent video on our YouTube channel showing you how to make the best summer sausage at home. Next time you give it a shot, mix in the Hot blend instead of the spices you usually use. We love using this with venison sausage because the heat and spiciness play real nice with the gaminess of the venison.
El Diablo Tri-Tip
Tri-tip is a favorite cut around the grill, barbeque, or smoker, but when you flavor your meat with Bearded Butchers Hot Blend, you are going to get a tri-tip like no other. We like to do this one as a dry rub, then pop the tri-tip on our Traeger 885 and let it smoke for a few hours. The spiciness from the hot blend works it’s way down deep into the meat, giving you bite after bite of intense flavor. You can adjust the amount of spice up or down for your guests, but even people who don’t like spicy food are going to ask you to make this one again.
Fire-Roasted Baked Potatoes
It doesn’t get much easier than this to make an amazing baked potato. Wash your unpeeled potatoes thoroughly and pat dry with paper towels. Drizzle a small amount of olive oil, grapeseed oil, or avocado oil on the potatoes, then coat well in Bearded Butcher’s Hot Blend Seasoning. Sprinkle a bit of garlic and onion powder, then rub the skins to coat. Wrap in aluminum foil and place on a hot grill for 45 minutes to an hour, or until tender. The Hot blend will flavor the fluffy insides, and create the absolute best potato skins you have ever tasted.
Be Brave, Be Bold, Make it Hot
Our Bearded Butcher’s Blend Seasonings are all-natural and a healthy choice for your family. The Hot blend is really one of the best blends we have come up with and it continues to be incredibly popular with grillmasters all over the nation. It's a fantastic spice not just on it’s own, but for combining with other, more subtle spices. It plays nice with our Cajun blend, and seriously elevates the Original blend to an out-of-this-world flavor explosion unlike anything you have experienced before. You’ll catch yourself reaching for the Hot blend way more than you thought you would. It’s so good you’ll put it on everything.
